The Memories of Murder is a work produced with the theme of the Hwaseong serial murder case in Hwaseong-gun, Gyeonggi-do in 1986. Two months after a young woman was discovered as a corpse raped or murdered brutally, as a series of rape and murder cases with similar techniques occurred, the whole area of Hwaseong-gun was engulfed in fear of an unfamiliar crime called serial murder.
Ten rape and murder cases that occurred within 2km radius of T-eup, H-gun, Island Gyeonggi for 6 years from 1986 to 1991.
